ILHAS LUZ LICHTINSELN, 2018
Museu Nacional de História Natural e da Ciência
Lisbon
At the Museum of Natural History and Science, the elements Water and Light are evoked with books transformed into visual objects that construct poetic constellations, a large-scale work on paper, a thousand glass marbles - as if they were stars - and a film.
At the same time, the public could scratch a paper world map covered with indian ink until it could entirely be visible.
Creating a universe that is simultaneously poetic/philosophical or political, R.R.A. evokes the transcendental side of existence. In this sense the reading of the works does not intend to be hermetic. Rather, it follows a subjective order that alludes to literature, poetry or «desire» - leaving the viewer the freedom to create associations and readings.
